As the fiery, orange, and many hued sun sets in the calm, cobalt blue Atlantic so does this episode of "Randy's Adventures in Oceanic Nature". The next episode of the wandering Californian comes with yours truly, as he makes his way east exploring the great European continent. Soon he will make his way aimlessly across Europe with only a single date in mind, on schedule to meet his sweetheart at the old world, picturesque, rocky shores of the Ligurean Sea coast in the city of Genoa, known as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus.

In other words DO NOT SEND ANYMORE E-MAIL TO ME TO THIS ADDRESS. Tomorrow we stop in the Azores and my E-mail status returns to: mersparks@sbcglobal.net (Same as before)

It is with heavy heart that I leave the boat and my fellow compatriots at sea Ni Orsi, Ray Hawkins, and Babaloo before we reach our goal, the Straights of Gibraltar 1,100 miles away and the Ligurean Sea another 900 miles into the Mediterranean. But schedules have to be made to plan any trip and sailing is notorious for breaking them. Because of the two week hold up in Brazil it is not practical for me to go on with the voyage. In the beginning we set up a schedule to meet Josanne in Genoa the 16th of May thinking we had built in plenty of time for provisioning, repairs and breakdowns. But in the end this was not enough and the boat will try to get to Genoa between the 25th of May and the 1st of June.

But as every ending is also a new beginning yours truly's new adventure is to get to Genoa Italy from the Island of Terceira Azores by the 16th of May to meet Josanne.

Meanwhile I want to thank you for keeping in touch while I was aboard. You all made my day by letting me be part of yours as we sailed.

I will stay in touch as I cross the continent.

More later,

Love you all,

Randy
