Thanks for the offer to help trouble shoot our autopilot, we have a couple of problems for you to look at for us if you will. Steering is quite a bother but we are thinking the water maker takes priority so I will start there. Water maker manufacturer HRO Horizon Model number Seafari SFC-840-1
We have had this working perfectly several times over the last month.
Here are our current problems symptoms. Shortly after starting the unit it shuts down before making clean water. At that time we get all the indicator lamps to blink 5 times and then they go off. When the pump is running all the pressure indications seem to be normal. It does not stay running long enough for the salinity indicator to indicate fresh water.
We have had it running for up to a minute before it shuts down but mostly it only runs a few seconds and then we get the shut down and the blinking lights 5 times (All lights).
We are thinking the blinking lights 5 times mean something to somebody but are not in the manual. The book refers to a high/low pressure fault light staying on when it shuts down because of pressure problems but we do not get that. We also are pounding pretty hard while the water maker is running and may be taking on air in the "oil filter canister" or "commercial filter canister" but have bled the air from these initial filter canisters numerous times.

Autopilot information: Made by B&G model number H1000
Autopilot: We are relatively sure we understand the error message which tells us to "Attention. No heading data, data unreliable check compass and connections" We have checked all the connections and believe we need a new Flux Gate Compass. Maybe you can find out some more than we can. The Autopilot is made by B&G and the model number H1000.

Hey Thanks. Any help you can give us would be very helpful to this smelly crew. We have done all the reading and are out of ideas on what to do next.
Thanks again, Ray Hawkins, Ni Orsi, Randy Sparks (SCYC) and Babaloo (Sal Paulo Yacht Club)

Ni has been in contact with a guy from So. Cal Marine that has been very helpful with the purchase of this equipment, he might be able to help you research this problem. Be sure to mention Annibal Orsi by name to David.
