The wind has died completely and we are reduced to motoring. It's now early PM on tues. and we made 124 nm since leaving the anchorage yesterday. Finalmente is at Lat. 2 deg. 11" S. - 31deg. 8" W.

As you can see we are about 2 Degrees (120 nm) south of the equater. We've set a coarse of 75deg M to try and cross at 28deg longitude. this should allow us to sail north to the Azores, so the pilot books say.

You asked about our watch system. The 1st watch is 9 - 12 midnite. This is an easy watch since he does not have to wake up. Then we each do a 2 hr watch until 6:00 AM. We stand informal watches during the day depending on whats happening. We rotate shifts nightly. Seem to be working but may be modified if necessary.

We are motoring under blue skies with clouds all around the horizon. The temp is probably in the ninetys, but not bad if you can stay in the shade and breeze. We occasionally encounter a rain squall, (usually at night) These are interesting to you sailors. WE usually see them on the Radar about 4-6 miles out. When they hit you get an immediate wind shift with the rain, usually a header and a velocity increase of 10 - 15 knots. They usually last 5-10 min and we're through. They keep the salt off the boat!!

We are eating well at this stage, if not gourmet. Randy is our most consistent chef but all participate.

All's OK but we need wind. We don't have fuel to keep motoring.

More later;
