Questions: Learn to Sail Coordinator
The Stockton Sailing Club, with a grant from the State of California's
Department of Boating and Waterways, is offering youths from age 9 to 18 the opportunity to learn how to sail. All entry level youths will be admitted to the program tuition free.
Some of the skills covered are: rigging, points of sail, steering, sail trim, knot tying, docking, water and boating safety, capsize recovery and racing. These skills are taught through a combination of lectures, demonstrations and on the water experiences.
No previous boating experience is required. Students must be comfortable around the water and be able to swim. Boats and basic safety equipment are available through the Stockton Sailing Club.
We look forward to seeing you this summer.
Stockton Sailing Club is located at the West end of March Lane, across from Ladd's Marina.
